This one of a kind, designer ring was features a rare Gaspeite gemstone. It was made by the designer Jeff Dawald and was received in an estate collection. The stone is set in Sterling silver and due to the intricacy of the piece, it cannot be resized. It currently sits at a size 8.

Gaspeite is a striking green gemstone that is valued for its vibrant, apple-green color, often resembling the hue of jade. It was first discovered in the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec, Canada, in the 1960s, and its name derives from this region. Gaspeite is a rare mineral primarily composed of nickel carbonate, and its distinct green shade is due to the presence of nickel. Although it has been used in jewelry since its discovery, it remains relatively scarce, making it a prized material for collectors and artisans. Gaspeite is often used in cabochon cuts for rings, earrings, and pendants, typically set in silver or gold, and it is sometimes inlaid into other materials for decorative purposes. Due to its relatively soft nature (5.5-6 on the Mohs scale), gaspeite requires careful handling to prevent scratches or damage. To care for gaspeite in jewelry, it’s important to avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, or abrasive surfaces. Cleaning should be done gently with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth, and gaspeite jewelry should be stored separately from other gemstones to avoid scratching.

Jewelry and gemstones do not always look like what’s on your screen. Different screen resolutions and pixelization may skew the colors of certain stones and metals. This is especially true for stones like opals, fire agate, and labradorite. Although we make the best attempt to show off the product exactly as it is in person, technology doesn’t always allow this. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out and we will do our best to help.
